During September media exchange program we had a possibility to
question foreign students about Tallinn; their likes and dislikes and what
makes Tallinn special to their hearts.
Tallinn, the capital of
Estonia, is famous for its university life, night bars, museums and highly
evolved cultural life. It is full with university students and youngsters from
all over the Europe that are searching for adventure and new beginnings.
Mailiis, a student from
Estonia, evaluates on the behavior or people from different cultures and
backgrounds. The way the behave and the way they act; the buildings and
architecture are not the things that create the atmosphere of the city and
country. The main reason for her to participate in this exchange program is to
meet new people from all kinds of cultures and have a multilingual experience.
The other participant, Patrick from Poland expresses the main reasons for
coming to Tallinn, which includes beer, old town, Estonian weather and nice
women. Third participant Victor from Hungary expresses his fascination with
Tallinn’s ancient churches, Tallinn’s main square and famous northern sunsets.
Maja, nineteen-year old
exchange student from Poland, who experiences her very first European exchange
program romanticizes Tallinn’s medieval narrow streets, it’s architecture and
it’s cultural landscape. She expresses her wish to come back again and
experience once again the wonders of northern magic. Massimo, Sardinian exchange student was also
not oblivious to the Estonian cultural heritage and legends surrounding the
capital. The twenty-year old compares the differences between his culture and
completely opposite Estonian culture that helps to shape multicultural
perspective and helps to develop a dialog between opposite European cultures.
A hope for united, tolerant
European future has never looked brighter.
